Alcohol Levels Tested

The Society of Hair Testing (SoHT), the authoritative body establishing international standards for hair-based drug and alcohol analysis, delineates clear guidelines for assessing levels of Ethyl Glucuronide (EtG), a direct alcohol metabolite.

Abstinence Indication: EtG levels below 5 pg/mg are indicative of abstinence from alcohol.

Repeated Alcohol Consumption: EtG levels ranging from over 5 to 29 pg/mg are a strong indicator of repeated alcohol use.

Chronic Excessive Drinking: EtG levels exceeding 30 pg/mg are a robust marker of chronic, heavy alcohol consumption, corresponding to the intake of six or more standard alcoholic beverages daily over an extended period.
