Hair testing for Geelong clients
Your own GP in Geelong can collect the sample. We post the kit, they collect under our chain-of-custody protocol, and the result carries exactly the same standing as one taken at our Melbourne clinic.
- Kit posted to your Geelong GP
- Court-admissible
- Results in 5–7 business days
- Analysed in Australia
You do not need to travel to Melbourne.
Our clinic in Brunswick West is the only one we operate — and you do not need to attend it. A collection kit goes to a GP or medical practitioner you nominate in Geelong, who collects under the same chain-of-custody protocol we use in person, for analysis by the same NATA-accredited Australian laboratory.
To be clear about it: we have no premises or staff in Geelong. We do not need any for you to be tested here, and we would rather say so than imply a footprint we do not have.
Accessing testing from Geelong
Geelong is close enough that most clients simply drive to the Melbourne clinic — roughly an hour each way — which avoids the kit fee, avoids a GP consultation fee, and gets the sample to the laboratory the same day. A kit to a Geelong GP is the alternative where travel is not practical.
Where Victoria matters are heard
Geelong is served on circuit by the Melbourne registry of the Federal Circuit and Family Court. Most of the testing we do is for family law, so it is worth confirming the required detection window and substances with your solicitor before booking — the timeframe is often specified in the order.
What was found is exact. When it happened is an estimate.
Which substances are in the hair, and how much of each, is measured to a very high degree of certainty. The laboratory uses mass spectrometry, which identifies a molecule by its mass rather than inferring it from a colour change or a reaction. A positive result is a positive result.
Dating that use is the approximate part. Hair does not all grow at the same speed — individual follicles grow at slightly different rates, and some are resting at any given time. It is the same reason a haircut never grows out perfectly evenly. So a length of hair corresponds to an approximate period, not to a particular day.
These are two separate questions, and this is the part worth being clear about: an estimated timeline does not make the substance finding any less reliable. The chemistry is precise. The calendar is approximate.
What is identical wherever you are
- The laboratory. Every sample is analysed in Australia by a NATA-accredited laboratory, by mass spectrometry, to ISO/IEC 17025. Nothing is sent overseas.
- The chain of custody. Photo ID verified before collection, tamper-evident sealing, and a custody and control form giving the sample a unique identifier.
- The panel. 95 substances as standard, with no per-drug surcharges.
- The turnaround. 5–7 business days from the laboratory receiving the sample.
- The interpretation option. A written forensic report or verbal opinion from an independent forensic toxicologist, available wherever you are.
Can I get a hair drug test in Geelong?
Yes. A collection kit is posted to a Geelong GP or medical practitioner you nominate, who acts as the official collector under the same chain-of-custody protocol used in our clinic. The sample is analysed by an independent NATA-accredited laboratory in Australia, operating to ISO/IEC 17025, and the result is identical in standing to one collected in person. You do not need to travel. For completeness: Hair Testing Analysis has one clinic, in Brunswick West, Melbourne, and no premises in Geelong — access is through your own GP instead.
How much does hair testing cost from Geelong?
The collection kit is $175 including GST and covers collection only. Testing is charged separately: $599 for a 95-substance hair drug test on a 3 cm sample covering approximately three months. Your nominated Geelong GP may also charge their own consultation fee, which we neither set nor receive.
Who collects the hair sample in Geelong?
A GP or medical practitioner you nominate in Geelong. They must not be a friend or relative, because the impartiality of the collector is what makes the result defensible. The kit includes a step-by-step protocol and checklist, and the sealed sample must be posted by the practitioner rather than by you.
